December 10th, 2016: Soft Opening — OC Contemporary Gallery Opens in San Clemente

SAN CLEMENTE, CA (December 10th, 2016) – The OC Contemporary Gallery, the first fine art gallery located in San Clemente in years, has its opening reception on Saturday, December 10th.

The opening exhibit will highlight the works of eight local artists, including Patrick Servidio, Tom Elliott, Jordan Christian, the venerable James Hill, Andy Horn, Alejandro Goya from Maui, and the street artist Rex.

OC Contemporary is the brainchild of longtime San Clemente resident and business owner Brian McCracken.  “This gallery will serve multiple purposes … providing a much needed venue in the city to enjoy and procure art, getting the very talented local artists the visibility they deserve, and housing my personal collection of fine art.”  The space will also serve as a studio for some of the artists.

What is unique about the gallery, other than its location, is the exquisite setting and architecture of the self-standing structure and its multiple outdoor spaces.  “We opted for a destination with character and a vibe over a more central, white-box type of location in the middle of town,” said McCracken.  The beautiful space will also be available to rent for corporate and private events.

North Beach, originally designated an art district, is experiencing a renaissance, with the Sea Summit development, Mall, new restaurants, and the impending restoration of the historic theatre and other buildings.  “This is a beautiful part of the city, with positive people, and a very artistic atmosphere,” says McCracken, “and we wanted to be part of its blossoming.”

OC Contemporary Gallery is located at 1509 N El Camino Real, open Wednesday through Saturday from 12-6pm, and by appointment at 888-948-0086.  With an international presence online as well, it sells and rents original art, high-end secondary market works, photography, and sculpture.  The venue is also available to rent for catered affairs.
